About

This year, Sydney Community Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. In honour of this occasion, we are proud to announce our 'For Sydney, Forever' grant round, offering four grants of $20,000 each.

The vision of the Foundation is for a community where people give together, to make Sydney strong and just.

Through this anniversary grant round, we reaffirm our long-term commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Sydney, supporting the local changemakers who are building a stronger, more equitable future for all. 

Sydney Community Foundation invites grassroots charities across Greater Sydney to submit projects for funding through the For Sydney, Forever grant round. 

Four grants of $20,000 will be awarded to grassroots organisations, with one grant in each of the following Sydney Community Foundation priority areas:

  • Opportunity and Equity for Women and Families
  • Transforming Communities and Place
  • Belonging and Wellbeing
  • Education and Employment

Grant criteria

Key criteria for this grant round:

  • Applicants must be available to attend the grant award event on Thursday, 12 December at 6pm.
  • Each charity finalist is eligible to receive funding under only one of the four key pillars.
  • The four winners will each receive a one-off payment of $20,000.
  • Projects are to be delivered in the Greater Sydney area.
  • Projects must not be for political association or religious education.
  • Priority will be given to organisations with an annual turnover of $2M or less.
  • Priority will be given to projects with diverse leadership and beneficiaries.
  • A six-month impact report and full acquittal at 12 months is required for this funding.
