Our salutee in 2026 is Suzie Miller. Suzie shared reflections on her life and career, the power of storytelling and the role we can all play in creating change. Suzie was introduced by her close friend, Nicole Abadee, who is on the Sydney Women’s Fund Advisory Council.
We were also delighted to announce Suzie as the inaugural Ambassador of Sydney Women’s Fund, and we look forward to working with her to champion women and communities across Greater Sydney.

In 2023 we celebrated Professor Larissa Behrendt AO at our annual Saluting Sydney Women event at the Museum of Contemporary Art. In addition to her incredible academic and creative career, Larissa is a former board member of the Sydney Community Foundation and understands the importance for Foundations to actively listen to communities and provide them with the support they need to heal and thrive. Larissa was in conversation with her close friend Philippa McDermott and spoke about her work, the amazing women who have supported her throughout her life and the importance of giving back.

In 2022, after a break due to Covid restrictions, the annual Saluting Sydney Women event was back. In early September 2022, Sydney Women’s Fund gathered a group of powerful women and men to celebrate a true trailblazer – Ann Sherry AO – at the spectacular Sydney Opera House. This was a fitting backdrop to pay tribute to Ann as one of our city’s truly iconic women, who credits her time in Sydney in the mid-90s as giving her the “greatest platform to create the greatest change.”
