The momentum is building for Schools for Impact, an initiative that puts philanthropic power directly into the hands of our youth. We’ve been busy amplifying awareness of our schools giving circles by engaging with more than 3,000 students at the Sydney Carers and Employment Expo (August) and partnering with Barker College Year 10 students to co-design our strategic direction. As we gear up for our annual inter-schools Summit in Term 4, our youth engagement has never been stronger.
The concept of Schools for Impact, now being implemented in high schools, originated from Impact 100 Sydney, using the same collective giving circle model that brings people together to fund local charities to dream big and transform the lives of people in need. Our program is a sub-fund of the Sydney Community Foundation, together we aim to lessen the divide and provide all members of the community with opportunities to thrive.
We are pleased to have the support Hon. Rose Jackson, MLC (Minister for Youth) open our 2025 Schools for Impact Summit in North Sydney. We now have over 600 students registered for the Summit with diverse students represented from both independent and public high schools. We’re excited to see high schools uniting not for sports, but for the love of compassion and humanity! Our program inspires our next generation to look beyond themselves and recognise the needs in their communities, while adopting giving decisions and practices from an early age.
